A thought is:

An idea, plan, opinion or a picture that’s formed in your mind.

The act or process of thinking.

The act of carefully thinking about the details of something.

Jeremiah 29:11 declares:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

God has thoughts about you.

Thoughts about your life, your dreams, your family, your  employment, your education, your surroundings. Thoughts about the things that make you smile, happy, sad as well as the things that may keep you up at night and prevent you from sleeping because you are worried.

Thoughts from God

The thoughts that Jeremiah 29:11 tells us about are from God alone and not from a human being, I love how this is articulated through the usage of the letter I.

Since these thoughts are from God alone, it doesn’t matter what people’s thoughts are towards you. It doesn’t  matter weather people think less of you or weather or not  you will succeed. It  doesn’t  matter if people speak negative things upon your life, it doesn’t matter if  people call you a failure or think you are  not good enough or pretty enough because guess what God’s thoughts matter the most and are more important than anyone else’s thoughts.

God thinks you are worth it. that’s why He created you fearfully and wonderfully according to His own image. You are not a failure in his eyes, God created you in such a way that He has made you able to do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

He Knows

The first three letters of the verse are “For I know…”  Has it ever occurred to you that these three letters could have been at the end of the verse?.  The fact that they are at the beginning shows just how significant they are when placed together with the rest of the verse. God wants you to know that He knows the thoughts that He has towards you.

This means that you don’t need to worry or stress over  your life or try to figure out all the missing puzzles to your life  all by yourself, because God knows it all. He really does. He’s your creator.

The more you start to communicate with God the more He will share these thoughts that He has towards you through his word, as you constantly spend time in His presence. Remain faithful to him in prayer and believe in what His word says about your life.

In any kind of situation, don’t get to a place where you are frustrated and start to think that God has no idea what is going on in your life. He knows everything, even when  He has shown you His thoughts about your life but they are yet to be manifested in your life, continue to trust Him. God’s promises never fail, if He has promised you something He shall accomplish it, so continue to persevere.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, But accomplish what I please.” – Isaiah 55:11

The verse does not say “For I knew the thoughts…”  nor does it say “For I will know the thoughts …” but it says “For I know the thoughts…”

You may not know what will happen tomorrow, next week, next year, in  5 or 1o years time but rest in the  assureance that God  has thoughts about your life. You may encounter a difficult situation, but never forget that there is always someone who will always be thinking and already has a plan as well as a solution on  how to get you through every setback that you experience. God will always have  your back even when it seems as if your whole life is falling apart.

Maybe you are anxious about where you will be or how things will turn out for you  in 5 or 10 years time. God already knows about your future, He knows every single detail, so even though you can’t see your future physically but as long as you are with God  and continue to trust in Him you will be radiant, not only that but your future as well.

“Those who look to Him are radiant their faces are never covered with shame.”  – Psalm 34:5

Thoughts of goodness

God’s thoughts towards you  in Jeremiah 29:11 are  “of peace, not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

So no matter what happens in your life good or bad, this verse will always remain the same. You may encounter hardships but don’t’ give up. Hard times exist to allow us to grow.

Thank you so much for reading this.

Speak to you soon.
